Thinking of what the food around us is comprised of, I examined cheesecake and the ingredients that make up the dish. I model the cake and each component, then hide the components and apply a spring animation to those when the user hovers into the finished dish. The result allows the user to manipulate the time based on the scrolling of their mouse, and see the reverse of time in the form of an explosion of raw ingredients from the finished dish.

Similar work has been presented by Gillian Hunt whose work in "The Chef Show” on Netflix combines stop-motion and slow-motion animation by animating miniatures of real food based on the featured dish of each episode. The work is interesting because it shows the anatomy of the dish in a playful way by reversing time and slowing down time.
